CEAGESP Festivals

The oldest, the CEAGESP Soup and Broth Festival, held since 2009, was designed to the celebrations of Ceagesp’s 40th anniversary, which attracts people from all over the country, are part of the winter gastronomic calendar in the city of São Paulo.

An icon of Ceagesp, onion soup was very successful in the 1960s and 1970s, during the construction period of the former Ceasa (currently Ceagesp), in Vila Leopoldina. At that time, the dish was served to wholesalers in the old Ceasa restaurant.

The delicacy had such repercussions among the merchants, and later among the buyers who got up early in the old warehouse, which ended up gaining fame in the city, very lacking, at the time, of places that served food at dawn.

CEAGESP Festival

Since the closing of the old restaurant, in the mid-1980s, the flavor of that dish that warmed the cold dawns of the then “land of drizzle”, as São Paulo was known, remains in the memory of São Paulo residents to this day. When the first edition of the Soup Festival was held, as part of Ceagesp’s 40th anniversary program, the success and approval were so great that the event became an annual event.

Another great attraction is the CEAGESP Fish and Seafood Festival, with its famous giant Paella and the prawn sticks that keep being served on the tables, these stars have been served since the first edition of the festival which started in 2013.  It is possible to eat all you want more than 30 dishes made based on fish and seafood.

Eating a variety of seafood is what everyone who goes to the festival wants, there the most requested among customers are: shrimp, mussels, cod, sole, octopus, hake baits, manjubinha, acarajé, sururu broth, which are just the house snacks.

And last but not least is the CEAGESP Pasta and Shrimp Festival that arrived in 2017 and has already gained admirers, from a good pasta combined with crispy shrimp.

Spaghetti, penne, farfalle, rondelli, ravioli, gnocchi, lasagna, pizza, risotto, parmigiana and pork belly are some of the items always present at the event.
